First Due’s cutting-edge Fire and EMS software solution provides an end-to-end platform for thousands of Fire and EMS agencies across North America. We’re searching for a strategic, customer-focused, and results-driven Director of Product to lead the vision, planning, and execution of First Due’s industry-leading public safety solution.
Key Responsibilities
As the Director of Product, you will own and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a group of modules within the First Due platform. You’ll lead a team of product managers, partner with engineering, design, marketing, and sales, and play a critical role in shaping the future of our platform and customer experience. You will:
- Define and execute a data-driven, compelling, future-focused product strategy aligned with company goals and customer needs
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of product managers and product experts, providing leadership, performance management throughout the product development lifecycle
- Own the product roadmap and backlog; ensure features are delivered on time and within scope using PM best practices and tools
- Partner with Client Success, Professional Services, and Support to research, translate, and deeply understand customer pain points and translate those points into product solutions; strategically partner with customers and partners to design and develop best-in-class product features
- Work closely with Product Development, Sales and Marketing, using product management best practices and expertise to deliver forward-thinking, customer-focused, innovative and scalable products; support product launches and work with Sales and Marketing on positioning, messaging, and enablement.
- Build data-driven frameworks to measure success; define, track, and report on product KPIs to continuously optimize product outcomes using data and customer feedback.
- Use cutting-edge machine learning and AI-driven technology and tools to optimize Product workflows and enhance product functionality, performance, and scalability.
Experience and Qualifications
- 10+ years of SaaS cloud-based platform product management leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Head of Product, Group PM, Director, etc.); govtech/public safety SaaS experience strongly preferred
- Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and product development best practices; JIRA experience preferred
- Strong technical acumen and understanding of development best practices; ability to effectively partner with engineering teams
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a distributed team that is building and delivering new product features and increments in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and deadline-driven environment
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and driving strategic planning processes across functions and disciplines; strong ability to partner with sales, marketing, professional services and support to drive data-driven results
- Excellent presentation and storytelling skills, comfortable presenting and influencing cross-functionally; ability to simplify complex concepts and data to stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and make high-impact decisions quickly
- Highly detail oriented and skilled in managing multiple responsibilities
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree
