Location: In-person 5 days a week, Capitol Hill, Washington D.C.Employment type: Full-timeClearance: Public Trust (sponsored by Anata)Benefits (brief): Health, dental, pet, unlimited PTOSalary range: $85,000 – $120,000 OverviewWe are seeking Software Engineers to develop and maintain secure, high-performance tools that are being used to redefine government processes. Responsible for several federal technology projects, an Anata Engineer is dedicated to compliance, performance, and creativity. The ideal candidate has a strong background in full-stack development, automation, familiarity with secure system design, and experience supporting production software systems. Responsibilities- Design, develop, and own full-stack features for various software applications- Build scalable and adaptable solutions to processing pipelines- Implement secure data storage, retrieval, and processing systems- Develop responsive frontend interfaces informed by nuanced workflows- Optimize database actions and data models- Write clean, maintainable code with appropriate test coverage- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices- Debug and resolve production issues in a timely manner- Ensure application security and compliance with data protection regulations QualificationsRequired- Professional experience in software development- Proficiency in JS, TS, Python, Bash, Docker- Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB) or Azure equivalents- Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB)- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs- Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular)- Understanding of authentication and authorization patterns (OAuth, JWT, SSH)- Experience using Git and collaborative development workflows- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, compliance-driven environment- Eligible for a security clearance Preferred- Experience supporting software projects in federal, regulated, or compliance-focused environments- Familiarity with document management, content management, or data-heavy systems- Knowledge of AWS serverless architecture and infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, Terraform)- Experience with document processing tools (PDF manipulation, OCR)- Experience with message queues and event-driven architectures (SQS, SNS)- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, ECS/EKS)- Contributions to open-source projects or substantial personal engineering projects Equal opportunityWe are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.
